COOKING FOR FEWER
Serves: 4
Cook Time: 30-35 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- • 2–3 apples, sliced or diced
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten (use approximately half)
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional: ¼–½ cup chopped nuts
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place apples in a lightly greased 6-inch baking dish or similarly sized oven-safe dish.
- Mix 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
- Combine ½ cup sugar, flour, approximately half the beaten egg, and melted butter. Add nuts if desired.
- Spread over the apples.
- Bake approximately 30–35 minutes, checking for a golden topping and tender apples.
- This smaller version is a suggested adaptation of your original recipe, not yet kitchen-tested. A whole egg would be convenient but may change the topping’s texture.
